Mid-Level Developer

Location: [Nottingham / Hybrid, 1 day a week in the office]

 

Reports to: Lead Engineer

Job Purpose:

As a Mid-Level Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our suite of software applications. You will take ownership of development stories and be proactively involved in the analysis of them.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Apply your expertise in clean coding techniques, SOLID principles, and secure coding practices to ensure we deliver high quality software solutions.

Use your knowledge and experience of DDL and DML to create and query data stores.

Work with Escalated Support to ensure we meet our Service Level Agreements responding to reported bugs within our systems.

Apply critical thinking to analyse user requirements when evaluating stories ensuring that they can be successfully completed within a sprint.

Review pull requests to ensure all production code meets our coding standards and that best practices are followed.

Present your work in Sprint Reviews

Provide insight in retrospectives to identify what positive and negative factors have affected sprints in order that actions can be made to continuously improve our processes.

Deliver workshops to the engineering team on topics that you have either worked on, or that interest you.

Act as a mentor to junior members assisting them in their day-to-day duties, and in their technical progression.

Work with the Lead Engineer to develop your skill set through continuous professional development.

 

Requirements:

 

ESSENTIAL

Full stack developer with a minimum of 2 years’ experience and proven knowledge of web development.

Proficiency in C#, JavaScript and .NET frameworks.

DDL and DML skills with TSQL.

The ability to write clean, concise, and test-covered code.

Familiarity with version control systems such as git.

Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proactive and driven.

 

DESIRABLE

Experience of modern full-stack web development within the Microsoft ecosystem including concepts such as serverless.

Experience working on large software projects.

Experience working on a SAS product.

Have used at least one JavaScript framework (Vue.js preferred)

Knowledge of the Microsoft Azure platform (particularly App Services and Functions)

Finance Assistant

Location: [Nottingham / Hybrid – c.2 days a week in the office]

 

Reports to: Finance Manager

Job Purpose:

The Finance Assistant will be primarily responsible for the sales ledger and will support the Finance Manager with credit control however will have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities and provide support to the wider Finance team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the sales ledger, ensuring accuracy in billing and accurate onboarding of new customers.
  • Support Credit Control with managing invoice queries and cash collection.
  • Supporting the wider Finance team and providing reports upon request
  • Any other reasonable duties at the request of management.

 

Requirements:

  • Must have experience within a Finance Assistant role, or similar position.
  • Experience of sales invoicing and credit control preferred.
  • Strong numerical skills with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage own workload, work to deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Able to use excel to analyse and present data. Experience in XERO is an advantage but not essential.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and processes.
