    Overview

    ASP Hair are a global leading colour house launching the best-in-class salon professional haircare products and delivering industry renowned education programmes. With a mixture of full- and part-time team members, they were struggling to effectively manage their absence and leave without a number of manual calculations and errors.

    ASP Hair implemented edays after struggling with their previous AMS not being able to offer the flexibility they required. Since rolling the system out in February 2022, they’ve managed to reduce their administrative workload, improve employee experience and minimise human error.

    The Challenge

    Of their 50 employees, ASP Hair has a mixture of full-time, part-time and temporary staff. This meant that in an ideal world, they needed the option to be able to book leave in either days or hours, within one simple system. However, they became frustrated with their previous software, after discovering that leave could only be booked in either days or hours, but not in a combination of both.

    This led to HR having to manually calculate employee entitlement then adjust the system accordingly, and the balance would frequently end up not being accurate. Becoming frustrated with this approach, the lack of flexibility and the lack of technical support, ASP Hair began to look for a new system that would better meet their requirements.

    “We needed the autonomy to build a system from the start. We spoke to a number of companies, but none of them allowed us the diverse requirements and flexibility that we found in edays. The other options out there either just won’t be flexible, or will be flexible but also ridiculously expensive. That’s why we came to edays in the end, and the price point was good. So it was a bit of a no brainer.”

    The Solution

    ASP Hair needed software to be able to fit their needs. As a headcount-light company, they needed to reduce the manual admin work and technical issues, to allow their HR department to remain agile and manage the complex needs of the business. Their HR software needed to improve efficiency and make their jobs easier.

    The Impact

    ASP Hair now benefit from a much more streamlined and automated approach to their absence and leave management. Reducing admin time for their employees and HR department, as well as managers when approving leave and TOIL requests.
