What’s new to edays this summer?
There are lots of exciting product updates being worked on at edays HQ and we thought we’d share some of the headline features that are either new or newly improved for the last quarter. Plus, get a sneak peek at what’s coming in the Autumn months, with lots of new functionality around time tracking, and more automation.
Product Roundup
Here’s a list of what we’ve released this summer.
Core HR
We released the first phase of our HR module to help customers manage documents & contracts, with enhanced employee profiles, org charts & workforce reporting. Our second phase is shaping up nicely which you can read more about below.
More rota flexibility
We’re always adding more automation to edays. A number of new workflows can now be built such as automatically assigning documents to a user, or notifications when someone completes an assignment, and we’ve added more email parameters for you to build and customise your own emails.
Workflow builder
Rotas can now be applied from days which aren’t Monday. This has been a popular customer request and we always want to allow as much flexibility in the system as we can. So you can now assign a weekly rota to begin on any day of the week making it easier to manage new starters or modifying employee agreements.
Projected leave entitlement
This new feature is designed for countries like Australia where you are required to show your teams how much annual leave they are due to accrue over the course of the year. Employers and employees in Australia typically struggle with the challenge of booking leave ahead of time, as most systems will only allow you to book leave you actually have in your entitlement pot at that time, rather than an amount you’ll have by the time you take it. To avoid needing to deal with negative balances, we’ve introduced projected leave entitlements to allow your team to forward plan with more peace of mind.
Automatic breaks
We’ve added a new toggle in our time tracking module which can improve the way automatic breaks work. This change to our timesheets is particularly useful in line with the EU Working Time Directive.
Shift scheduling
We’ve partnered with MakeShift to bring a brand new product to the edays suite. This integration will enable roster creation, shift swaps, and real-time scheduling alongside your existing absence and time tracking.
🔔 Coming Next
Here’s what’s coming to edays in the next quarter
More workflows and automation
We’re releasing visual improvements to the workflow builder for emails, and lots more to come such as date based automation on start dates, probation, visa expiries etc. If you’re using Core HR you will be notified when an employee updates their personal details such as address too.
Custom forms and survey builder
As part of our Core HR module, you’ll be able to send customised forms and digital documents to your people, such as probation reviews or new starter forms. If you want to customise your Return to Work forms, you’ll also be able to manage this with the same functionality. We’ve designed this feature to be super flexible so the number of uses are endless.
Anomaly detection
We’ll be bringing lots of additional functionality to our Time Tracking module over the coming months, but the first of those will be the ability to track anomalies better, giving you more precision and visibility.
Timesheet rounding
Another element of these Time Tracking improvements will be timesheet rounding, to make reporting much simpler.
Overnight shifts
A lot of timesheets struggle with reporting on overnight shifts properly, causing inaccurate data when a shift goes across 2 different days. We’re working hard to make sure this functionality is supported fully in edays, to improve the experience for organisations with mixed shift workers.
Calendar improvements
With Time Tracking improvements, as well as the ability to track overnight shift workers, we’ll also be redesigning the calendars within edays to give you greater visibility over your people and where they are.
